That’s why we’ve compiled this quick and easy-to-read guide covering the most common questions from our customers. 🚗 Will My Vehicle Die While Driving?
No — your vehicle will not suddenly shut off.
If the only issue is a failing hybrid battery, the vehicle will continue to drive. Eventually, it may enter “limp mode,” limiting your speed to about 40 mph, but it will remain drivable to get you safely to your destination or installation appointment.
❗ Will All My Trouble Codes Go Away?
Most hybrid battery-related trouble codes will clear after installation.
If any remain, our technician will investigate and explain what they mean. We always double-check our work to ensure everything is functioning properly before leaving your location.
⚙️ How Does Your Battery Compare to the Dealership?
Comparable performance, significantly better value.
Our batteries meet OEM specifications and are often half the cost of a dealership replacement. While new dealership batteries may last 8–12 years and come with a 1-year warranty, The Hybrid Geek offers reconditioned and NexGen batteries backed by flexible warranty options:

🛠️ What If My Vehicle Still Doesn’t Work After Replacement?
We stand behind every install. If your vehicle still isn't functioning, we’ll recheck the battery, review any active diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), and help you identify the next best steps — even if the issue lies outside the hybrid battery.
📜 What Does the Warranty Cover?
Our warranty covers any malfunction of the hybrid battery itself. However, issues caused by:

Other failing components
...may not be covered. A proper diagnosis is required to confirm battery failure before any warranty claim can be processed.
🔄 Is the Warranty Transferable?
Yes — your hybrid battery warranty is fully transferable.
If you sell or gift your vehicle, the new owner can take over the remaining warranty period. We’ll just need the new owner’s contact info and vehicle VIN for our records.
🏢 What If The Hybrid Geek Goes Out of Business?
We’re not going anywhere.
The Hybrid Geek is expanding into new markets with new product offerings and growing demand. We’re focused on longevity and customer trust — and committed to honoring all valid warranty claims.
🧰 Can You Install the Battery at My Dealership or Repair Shop?
Yes!
We can perform the installation at any dealership or repair shop — just ask them for permission to use their lot. We don’t require a service bay, and installs typically take about an hour. Our installers bring all tools and are fully insured.
🌀 Do You Replace the Cooling Fan?
If your fan doesn’t have any trouble codes, our installer can clean it on-site.
If your vehicle does show cooling fan-related codes, fan replacement should be performed by a dealership or certified repair shop.
🔋 What About the 12-Volt Battery?
We offer 12-volt battery replacements as a convenience during your hybrid battery install. These are sourced from trusted suppliers like O’Reilly Auto Parts and come with their 3-year / 36,000-mile warranty.
⚠️ We do not provide standalone 12V diagnostic or warranty support — please work directly with O’Reilly’s if you experience an issue.
♻️ What If I Don’t Have a Core?
We can still help in most cases.
If your original battery core is unavailable or not exchangeable, we may apply a $350 core fee to the service.
